I know this movie is older, but you will not see a better performance by each top-notch cast member in any other movie! Top Notch! ... And yes, I just purchased it for my collection.

storyline too depressing it ruined the beautiful setting...
  • Don’t get it

I don’t get what everyone likes about the movie. It felt choppy at times and displaced. Would not recommend
  • I could only watch this once

OMG this is probably one of the most intense movies I've ever seen. The whole cast is great. It was just so disturbing though. I kept asking myself could I do what Ripley did if I was in the same position. I was afraid to answer.
  • It didn’t age well

I’ve seen this movie on the theatres 16 years ago, when it was released. At the time I liked it very much. I’ve seen it again through AppleTV, and sincerely, it didn’t age well. Too bad. Still, worth to see this movie.

OMG I saw this in a theater, and walked out half way through it. The most pretentious piece of crap ever.

  • an exceptional movie

It’s a chilling psycho-thriller, based on a book by Patricia Highsmith — that should tell you everything. It’s even better on the second viewing. The acting is top-notch (including Philip Seymour-Hoffman in a great small role), brilliant plot. The people who don’t like it because it’s dark, just don’t seem to get it. It’s not supposed to have a happy ending or any car chases.
