Academy-Award® winner Rachel Weisz (Denial) and Rachel McAdams (Spotlight) star in this spellbinding drama about a woman as she returns to the community that shunned her decades earlier for an attraction to a childhood friend. Once back, their passions reignite as they explore the boundaries of faith and sexuality in this film that critics call "romantic and gripping" (Parade).

  • Amazing

Actors were insink with their character and the way they portrayed orthodox Jewish culture was pretty accurate

  • Excellent, Realistic Movie About Tradition Making Way for Love

    By NorthernHarrier
Well-modulated performances by Weisz and McAdams give this story its drive and believable romance, although it is the principle male in the story who shows the most generosity and heart in the end. A thoughtful, well-written script illustrates that human beings steeped in rigid tradition and customs are capable of growing and changing without abandoning their belief systems and communities. This is an excellent, realistic drama.
  • Great movie but not what I expected

It was an excellent movie and I had pre-oredered this movie as soon as I got the chance. I was extremely excited ever since the first trailer dropped. I was expecting a very intense love story and it did have its moments but at the end of the day it was an Indie movie that focused on being very realistic. I highly recommend and it is probably the best lesbian movie to come out in ages besides Carol.
  • It’s worth watching

Great movie and great acting, but the ending is terrible. Though, that seems to be the trend in any movie that depicts queer relationships.

  • Very deep

Very emotional and filled with meaning. I found it difficult to follow at first, and the entire thing was incredibly somber! Like, the entire movie!! I like how it really gave insight on the personality of a culture that is rarely seen publicly but wow, so sad! Death, lovers that can never be, the breakup of a marriage, a community losing its leader and then seeing his predecessor unravel slightly...I have to admit though, when Dovid gave his speech at the end and set her free- ugh! I lost my breath! Super powerful moment. I thought this was a very profound and meaningful movie that I am glad I watched but I wouldn’t want to watch again. Sad.
